What could a shoe shine guy teach a wedding photographer about their business? I just came across the ratty old Youtube video below, which features one of the best salesmen ever. It's short, very funny (I think) and full of insight. RIP Zig Ziglar, who died recently aged 86. Now you’re doing your own publishing, you have more to concern yourself with than the quality of your images. Of course people will judge you by those. You do so yourself. But they’ll also judge you by your writing, your tone of voice, your graphic design sensibilities. Plenty of people will judge you because you don’t know how to use apostrophes, or when to use i before e. These days plenty more will judge you for not re-reading before you publish, and so not noticing how predictive texting has messed up your sentences. Many years ago I headed to an up-market department store to buy a gift. When I asked the person behind the counter to show me what I wanted, she replied, “It’s expensive you know”. Was she suggesting that I couldn’t afford it, or was she reflecting on her own economic situation? She should have known better. I’m always reminded of it at trade shows when people look at our albums and say things like, “They're so beautiful, To View More >>

If you haven't noticed, when you upload your images they can do so at different speeds, and then show up in Workspace out of order. So how do we "sort" this out? Well there are two parts to it. Are you wanting to sort your Collection in Workspace, or do you want to change the order your images appear on your website, eg in a slideshow? Sorting the Collection. Just above your thumbnail images there are options to sort by file name, date or manually. To change the order manually, just drag the image thumbnail to a new position. Pretty straightforward stuff. Sorting for your website. This takes a To View More >>

Here's a very cool wedding video in stop-motion, created by Auckland team Bayly & Moore. "Marina + Andy got married in immaculately detailed style in the gorgeous old Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy. Featuring a classic town hall, an inside swing, brand new moustaches, vintage fur trimmings and a New York finish, these guys nailed every wonderful moment!" Music by Jinja Safari. Happy Thursday!
